At any given moment if we look out out back door we find any numbers of birds using our deck railing as a temporary respite between hunting for insects or soaring between the trees. It also gives a great advantage in observing our feathered friends because they can’t see us inside. That’s when I’m able to get shots like these. The White-throated Sparrow can normally be found hopping along the ground staying pretty low. This time he was content to rest right next to our kitchen window and strike a few poses. Looking around for any danger and puffing out in an attempt to keep away the cold. I love getting to be so close. To see how they act normally instead of sounding an alarm or instantly taking off when they see us coming. I didn’t even know there was a white-throated sparrow until I was able to see one up close.
